Ministry Partners vs. Intercommunion Agreements

We are occasionally asked if we are in Communion with any other Church organizations.  While we recognize that some Churches have intercommunion agreements with other Church bodies and have found such relationships to be productive and fulfilling, that has not been our experience.  We have found intercommunion agreements to be largely the domain of power brokers who wish to add numbers to their "virtual" empires, but who are not really interested in doing meaningful ministry.

We prefer instead to establish relationships with ministry partners - Churches and Ministries with whom we engage in specific projects that have specific goals to better the circumstances in the world.  These relationships offer much more flexibility, largely because we don't need to agree on every nuance of doctrine to be able to form partnerships to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, or equip people for ministry.  In this way, the ministry partner model is extremely inclusive - which is an important part of the ethos of The Universal Anglican Church.
